I found a used deal locally and really liked how it sounded and played. Just wondering if anyone's had any experience with them good or bad?

Fair To Midland's guitarist uses one. Sounded so good in person through his Naylor.

I have one I picked up used recently, great tone, great playability. I think it's an AJ250sf Plus but would have to look at the tag when I get home to be sure.

very hit or miss IMO. If you found a good one than go for it!

In my experience, more hit than miss! Love those guitars!

I have one of the Atlas acoustics and it's a great guitar. I think it's around $600 or so used, but it plays well, sounds good, the electronics work well, well made, all around great guitar. Better than a pre-Fender Tacoma I owned, better than the vintage Guild I currently own.

I've bought and sold numerous Martin, Gibson, Taylor, Santa Cruz, Collins, Borgeois, Huss and Dalton, and a few others that I'm most likely forgetting. Breedlove has been the only unquestionable keeper for me. I can only assume that the person who posted "hit or miss" is talking about some of their lower line stuff...the custom made guitars are the best I have come across for the perfect balance of tone and playability. Here's my early 90's C2 Maple (now the C20 I believe):

I bought my first Breedlove back in January. It's the import "crossover" Passport N250 nylon string. Wasn't perfect, but good enough that I was soon thereafter inspired to get a Masterclass Bossa Nova nylon crossover. Wrote and recorded my entire first "flamenco jazz" album with that. Soon after that I also picked-up a steel string American C25 that I've done some writing and recording with as well. I've been gigging the two nylon crossovers since May and they've been great. Plenty of acoustic volume, very good playability, etc. I plug all of these guitars into my Fishman Loudbox Mini amp for gigs and they sound VERY natural. I've upgraded the import Passport's under-saddle pickup to the Baggs Element system that the two American-made guitars also have. I also upgraded the nickel knobs on the steel string with ebony buttons.

BTW... I've owned some very nice acoustics over the years (favorites were high-end Yairis and Takamines), but the Breedloves are better than them all. Better fit & finish. Better playability. Better tone.

Been playing one of the "Black Beauty" AE models for years...best low/mid level AE I've ever played. If it feels right, snag it.

I've had one for many years, and a 12string - love them.

Breedlove have got a very special thing going on... Almost like a PRS Private Stock but for acoustics, you know? I've played a couple and have always loved how they felt, how they played, and most certainly how they sounded. Of course, I wanted to get on board and own one - but of the ones I had the pleasure of playing, my gawd man, they weren't cheap. I couldn't justify it. Then again, I know I know, if I had one, prolly play it all the time.

Thanks for the input guys. This is an import AJ250SF Plus but man is it beautiful! Plays wonderfully too. I just need to figure how to get it.

One of the guys from the California Guitar Trio plays a Breedlove guitar, he always sounds great.
