I have a Gibson Les paul Vintage Mahogany which comes with Burstbucker Pro's. What kind of change in EQ should I be expecting if I change the bridge pickup to a Rio Grande BBQ.
In doing this I was hoping to improve my lead sound. Currently I'm really loving the first 3 channel of my Mesa Roadster but Lead channel is always too gritty and thin compared to what I had with triaxis or Mark IV. Changing amp is out of question cause for clean/overdrive/mid-gain distortion, I really haven't owned a better amp. For leads though, it doesn't have that smooth, fat, tons of mids lead sounds whatever I do to the eq knobs.
So how do these pickups compare?
