Budda SuperDrive 45

Isn't this the budget version of a Naylor or Friedman Naked?
It is partly....big difference is no Presence circuit. For me, the Naylor SD amps HAVE to have the Presence...dark as F without it. And, the Presence in a Naylor is a HUGE part of the sound/response.

The cleans on the SD45 are JTM45 based but more more flexible. The drive channel is a lot of gain on tap. The amps are LOUD! IMO, they sound better with V30’s than the Budda Phat12 speakers.

I'm a Budda Bro. I've had a 45 for years and got an 80 a year or so ago. They will definitely scratch the Marshall itch and put you in the ballpark. Also, they're called Budda watts for a reason. That amp is punishingly loud with a horrible master volume. So be prepared to melt faces, including your own, if you wanna kick ass with it.

Tried one well over 10 years ago. It didn’t excite me. Kept wanting more top end bite but the knobs wouldn’t go any higher. I would hard pass unless I was actually going for warm, fat Marshall, not kick down your door and perform dental work Marshall.

I have played Budda amps before and I do think they are a quality amp, but as others have said they are smooth and dark sounding. I have heard some people rave about them, but still, does not have that characteristic Marshall toothy snap and snarl.

Mines a pv version. What speakers do you think it would prefer? 30’s or 75’s?
