hey everyone,
What are some of the recommendations out there for a budgett friendly USB recording interface? I have a mini mixer and an old Behringer V-amp 2. I have some backing tracks I'd like to record guitars on.

Thank you

Forgot to mention that I am using a Windows 10 laptop with USB 3.0 ports.

Also welcome suggestions for a USB interfaces Mini mixers. that way if I can eliminate 2 units with unit, then it'll save desk space :-)

Focusrite makes good Interfaces.

pretty much this. i am not a home recording vet like some of you guys, but i feel nothing is lacking with focusrite and i have had other interfaces that IMO failed to match up.

Thanks guys. I looked at the Focusrite and its almost twice the price for a basic model compared to something like a Behringer.. I know quality is perhaps night and day, but this is for home use. Nothing professional use.

Any input on this? U-Phoria UMC204HD Audiophile 2x4

Add me to the list of Focusrite supporters. I would never buy anything Behringer...I don't know if they may have stepped up their game in recent years, but the stuff I dealt with ten years ago or so was crap, haven't touched anything by them since. The Focusrite Scarlett series is good bang for your buck, I have an 8i6 and it works great for me. The main question is how many inputs or outputs you need, and the type; this is one of the biggest price drivers. I only have the 8i6 instead of the 2i2 because I wanted SPDIF input too, not just mic/instrument inputs (I don't need half its stuff). If I had more coin i might have looked at the Claretts too, or the Audient or Apogee stuff, but got a good Sweetwater deal so went with that! Check em out for some good prices. Cheers

Thanks guys. How does the Focusrite compare to the PreSonus stuff?

That's all the OP really needs. Personally through the interfaces I have used (having not tried the solo), I doubt you would get better for that than that for $110. I can't remember all I have gone through (four IIRC in the past decade and obviously things have changed), and personally for that price and my just general experience, it's worth it to go with focusrite. It's not something that is worth saving $20$-40 on regarding going through the headaches of others.

Focusrite was really the first I had that was headache free. That alone is the cost difference for me.

That's just my opinion is though.
