Gonna build another 4x12 cab and I think the 1960B size would work well for me as I already have an oversize 4x12. Will put a quad of Weber Stan Spec greenbacks in it that I already have. Would love to tolex as well, but I may skip this and go straight to truck bed liner material just like the last one I built. Need suggestions on what grill cloth from mojotone, not sure about whats good and what to stay away from.

Will use 13layer void less birch for the cab. Does anyone have the cab dimensions laying around or can point me in the right direction?

Why build? For the fun of it?

There are great cheap cabs out there such as stagecraft, voltage, v boutique etc...Typically around the 350 mark...

I've got a plan for a Marshall 1960 on PDF file. I can't figure out how to post it in the forum, but I can email it. I'm going to use it someday to build a cab just to see what it's like. I don't think building it would be hard at all, but tolexing it and setting the grill cloth might be a different story.

Home, here are the basic dimensions off my '73 B cab with no tolex on it.

29 5/8" wide
29" tall
14" deep

Marshall also uses a 7/8" roundover, and not the 1" I see posted sometimes.

Let me know what else you need

Marshall uses 11 ply 5/8" baltic birch, too, not 13 ply 3/4".

You may want to experiment with the truck liner stuff on a piece of wood or at least go look at some samples so you can see and feel the texture..

I was going to do the same thing with a head I ordered, I ended up not liking the texture and changed my order to tolex..

I found some good Protective coating companies that can do various custom textures and colors but it added up to being way more than what the Tolex would cost...

Especially for a color other than Black..
