Hello everybody my name is Jordan ,
and I have a problem I am a gear whore . I was told this would be the place to come to sort out my problems   .
I have just sold my axe fx ( ehhh) and me and my other guitarist are looking to build real amp rigs again . Before I had the axe I was playing a splawn quickrod and a engl fireball in stereo which was ok but no I want to go all out . I have been looking into getting 1-2 of the following , diezel vh4 , herbert , invader , uberschall or something similar . I want something thats multi channels like 4 with alot of bottom end ( Orange ppc412) I want that deep in your chest feel again not the nasty high end ice pick stuff from the axe fx . Originally we were thinking about doing engl invaders but we are now leaning more towards diezel herberts and vh4's to prevent any of the ice pick end . Any suggestions ?

Welcome aboard!

You came to the right place!

Peters Chimera, Hydra, and Halo. Order it as a 3 channel amp.

Next i would recommend a recto reborn, an old rev F or G recto, or a Tremoverb.

Thank me later

Check out a Diezel D-Moll too. Rhodes is making great multi channel amps as well. The Colossus is a 4 channel beast

Peters thats one I have yet to have heard of ....... The rhodes has crossed my mind but all the clips seems way to marshall sounding .

Diezel VH4 or Herbert definitely don't have a harsh top end. I love the VH4; hard to go wrong with it for what it seems like you want.

I like my invader a lot, but compared to my rec and vht it's more polished sounding, and not as raw or "brutal." For Brutal ENGL tones go for a savage over the invader. If you are going the two head route, definitely look into a tremoverb or an older 2 channel solo head rec. They sound great, super aggressive, and they mix well with pretty much everything.

Herbert is definitely brutal. It's my #1. Run in stereo with a VHT UL

It kinda depends on what you want and what you're aiming for tonally.

I hear alot about the ultra lead I really need to get around to trying one out . Everyone says they are so dry and hard hitting which is what I want . I miss the room filling sound from a real amp . The axe fx through my pa sounded like it was coming out of really loud computer speakers really honky and no feel to it at all just really really look guitar . Like a recorded guitar track being played through monitors .

What is the going rate for a vh4 ? How hard would it be to find one for like 28-3k?

If I was going ultra heavy I'd have to have me one of them Fortins and a VH4. :rawk:

VH4 and Herbert together work really well! It's like getting punched in the face by Mike Tyson

The question is ......... Who should get what ? Should I get the vh4 or should he haha .... I want the better sounding amp .

Haha we both have orange cabs ...... I guess we can both get vh4's since I will run mine alot different then his setting wise ... Is the volume , depth , presence thing programmable per channel or not ? Also can it be controlled by a tc electronics g system ?

For the price of those boutique amps mentioned-- I'd get a used recto and use the leftover money to go on a nice vacation with my girlfriend, or buy a used car. Just saying. In all seriousness though, the vh4 is where it's at. fuck cars. fuck disney world.

I have settle'd on a rig ...... I will post NAD's when I get them .......

+1 all of what Mr. glpg80 said. Peters amps sound like satan in a tube amp.
I would also like to add Mako to the list as well. The Mak4 preamp is pretty awesome.
