So, I can’t stand tiny frets. And not only were they tiny, they were pretty worn. The previously owner played the shit out of this guitar, and I can attest it’s a beast. It appears to be solid mahogany, no maple cap, so it’s a very full sounding guitar I hade swapped the mismatched dimarzios and put in my Whiskey bridge/P’AF A4 neck with aged gold covers to matches the guitar. I did my homework and everyone I asked about refret jobs recommended the same person. I wanted. I wanted jumbo frets and an oil infused bone nut . I dropped it of 8 days ago and he just told me I can pick it up Monday. I’m super excited. He went to the ESP Luthiery School and worked at ESP before moving back to Okinawa.

Sweeeeeet axe! I had a black Burny Les Paul Custom with some hotrodded pickups. I miss that guitar :( strum a power chord on it, for me.

I don't see a single rasp mark or blemish anywhere on the fretboard from pulling the old frets and installing and working the news ones in, there's no sloppy work anywhere!:2thumbsup: That guy is good! Congrats on the new jumbo frets!

Looks great.
What size Fret Wire??
The jescar, not sure the exact measurements. A little different than the typical Dunlop sizing. They’re a little more narrow than Jumbos but wider than medium jumbos, but taller

I have the same guitar. Same with you I don’t like the tiny frets.

My Edwards also has very low smaller frets. Plays great though. So how do you find the burny quality overall? They are still one of the few deals out there for Japanese guitars. Most reviews I see are favorable and I love my Edwards cream colored Randy inspired LP

Congrats!!

Every time I pick up my Greco Sykes, I realize how much I don't need a legit Gibby.
Scratches that itch nicely.
Not sure why but I am in the mood for a black LP with creme buckers in it.. a sort of Vivian and Sykes hybrid. The grecos' and Edwards are still reasonably priced and I also can't bring myself to drop 2800 to 3000$ CAD for a used LP. ( that's the going rate where I am it seems)

I have its older brothers in RR style and black, and the RR I kept the frets original; it's an '83 RLC70, so it also has the fret end nibs.
The black '87 one also had those, but the refret (with Dunlop jumbos) got rid of them unfortunately.

My 'RR' is Duncan loaded; after many swaps I settled on a Custom/59 Hybrid bridge SH16 and a PGn Pearly Gates neck. Great combo.
The Black one has DiMarzios; Super D bridge and a DP103 36th Anniv. PAF neck. Great combo as well.

But the RR would be the one to grab if the house ever caught fire...

If you go Greco make sure it's a 1977-1988 serial range, EG500 or higher. Although some EG500s are chambered; I've had two that were 10lbs and sounded killer. You can save some coin buying direct from Ishibashi or another Jap retailer.

Here’s mine. I put the knobs on it. It’s soon to get a brushed gold het set.
I see yours has the larger diamond inlay on the headstock. I wonder if smaller vs larger was random for Burny or if there's some other distinction associated with it. Is yours quite a chonker in terms of weight as well? I believe mine is well over 11lbs.
