...I had a trade for a few Yamaha Pacificas (921's) I owned for some amp stuff. The guy gets them, and says, "These aren't made in USA". Really? No shit? They're YAMAHAS for F's SAKE!!...
The necks might've been USA if the guitars were early ones. Ken Warmoth's shop built all the 900 series Pacifica necks for the first few years.

They weren't.

He's a sook that needs to swallow a jar of HTFU followed by a swift kick in the arse.

Thankfully PayPal is on your side. Gather all your evidence of the advertisement and correspondence.

As already stated he's from The Gear Page, and there are many lawyer types on there. Or he's just a shitbrick out to rip people off.
If PayPal won't budge he might take his ego to the small claims in the magistrate's court or similar judiciary, and try to sue you for whatever pathetic damages he can. You never know what arseholes are out there. Just be prepared mate and hopefully he'll get laughed out of there.

EDIT: I just read the post of a scammer. There ya go! Likely just ripping you off.

Has the guy never played a plexi? What was he expecting exactly, blows my mind the whinging bs people will write when behind a computer. He would never try this nonsense face to face I'm sure.

I'd be watching from the sideline with popcorn if it was like this.

Back before I was a member of any forum and just bought and sold gear on Ebay. I bought an Egnater modded Marshall. It was good sounding but was pretty noisy/hissy. But when playing you couldnt tell. I sold it fund something else. Guy buys it....says its great. See it a week later back on Ebay. Asshole using my pics and same write up. Well he sold it. Guess the guy that bought it didnt want it. Wanted his money back from the guy.
Here is where it gets interesting.... :D
The guy that purchased it off me....wanted me to refund him back his money for the amp he bought from me then sold again to some other guy.
I told him fuck off. The amp I sold was already 2 people after I owned it and he thought I was going to give him back his money?
Some people should not be allowed to buy things without Mommys say so. ;)

People are wacked....before I was a r/t er I sold a Marshall VM on eBay. He gets it, and says it sounds great. 28 days later he says it hums really bad. I say change tubes, he said he did. He says I should just send him 80, it'll cost more to send it to a tech. I say no send it to a tech then send me the bill. He opens a dispute. Funny, assholes got it for sale for 300 more than what I sold it for. Says it sounds great! EBay sided with me, case closed. Fn scammer.

And I would of gotten away with it to! If it wasn't for that dog and you meddling kids!!

I purchased a white 2004 Gibson LP Custom (eBay) last week to convert to a Randy Rhoads model. The seller stated "8.5 out of 10 condition". I get the guitar (from Canada) and find there's a deep dent the ebony slab fretboard and binding, cracking underneath fretboard, and the top of the guitar was about 3 shades lighter than the rest of the guitar. When I asked him why these issues weren't mentioned in the listing? He replied; "I did! I said it was an 8.5 out of 10..."

I told him I wanted a refund - which he agreed to. He then told me that since he is in Canada, I would have to go to FedEx to fill out all the paperwork, and also pay for the return shipping... :scared: He reassured me that he would pay me back, once he received the guitar... RIGHT! I then contacted FedEx and eBay to confirm... They informed me that his information is incorrect. I relayed the information to the seller, and haven't heard from him since.

Another grand eBay experience!

he bought an used amp. Not a new amp from guitar center.
If the amp was in the described condition and he "now" doesn't like it, he can sell it too.
You do not need to do anything.
