So I recently started running my fortin through a 4x12 and a OS 2x12 I have the 4x12 facing me and 2x12 to my left side . It creates Almost a half
Vortex when standing to the side of the 4x12 . In front my left ear gets a little fatigued but it still sounds awesome . Haven’t stacked them yet . What’s everyone’s preferences if any.

Depends on if I'm playing by myself or with a band.

I generally run one wet cab and one dry one - if I'm playing by myself i prefer the stereo space illusion of them side by side, but if I'm playing with a band its generally preferable "Cut" wise to have my dry cab as the top of the "stack."

They definitely sound different though, even if you aren't doing a wet dry thing.

if youre doing just straight dual cabs, definitely try some wet dry fuckery and see what you think, lots of people love it - including me.

I’ve never like a too cab sound wise . Idk if I’m insane but whatever cab that’s sits on floor always sound better to me .

Im the same. I use two cabs side by side, and take the casters off to sit on the floor.
That’s cool . I’ve always thought I was weird . Top cabs always sound hollow to me even if I loved it on ground

I’m usually the same. Occasionally I leave casters on. This reduces a bit of low end, allowing me to turn it up on the amp, resulting in a slightly different type of low end. Fills the room differently.

I actually typically prefer the cabs on casters or I use an Auralex Gramma to help decouple the cab a bit. Like thegame said, it definitely changes the amount and tightness of the low end and how the sound fills the room. In my situation and room, I prefer to not have them directly on the floor because it cleans up and tightens the low end. Obviously the room has a huge impact on room sound (duh lol), but the floor and what is or isn't under it does as well.

I prefer slants on casters. I don't like the sound of a 4x12 stacked on top of another. Very harsh.

I think supposedly it's the reflections off the floor that give the exaggerated low end that we like. Casters move the speakers up a bit, reducing the effect. Stacking the cab up several feet pretty much removes it.

You can play with tilting a smaller cab. At a certain point, it goes from sounding ok to sounding pretty shrill once the speaker is angled too much away from the floor.

Shrill is the perfect word for what I hate that happens . Shrill and hollow

When I had my Herbert I had 2 4-12 cabinets. It used to shake my entire house and pictures would fall off shelves. lol
