I just sold my mesa 2x12 and now im looking for a new cab! :)

Im looking at either the Port City 2x12 or Fryette deliverance 2x12. They both sound awesome. Has anyone tried either of these cabs?

Im looking for a nice tight, not too in your face sounding full sound, with a very balancd response and clarity

Emperor brotha..Obviously I'm biased but it is the be all, end all of cabs IMHO. I'm SO sold on it.

The Port City is the best 2x12 I've personally owned but it really depends on what you're looking for. Fryette and Splawn both make great 2x12s too and the Splawn is $499 loaded new

What mesa was it? what didnt you like about it?

It was a recto 2x12.
It was pretty scooped sounding and had alot of presence. It didnt really seem "there", with the lack of clarity and out of control bass.

I think im going with the port city 2x12. I like the idea of 45 degree reflectors inside the cab so your cab has more punch and clarity.

Yeah what amp is pretty important. I've had PC in a OS 412 and a VHT FB 2x12 & 412. The vht FB 2x12 sounded huge but I had celestions in mine as I don't like p50's. My PC 412 sounded big and full but made some amps sound dark. The Fortin opened up a lot more with the vht than it did with the PC and the FB with the right speakers is hard to beat. Vht is quite focused without the spread of the PC but has better mids and tighter

I would get a Mesa 2x12 :)

No but seriously have you tried the Roadster cab? It's a bit smaller and a lot tighter sounding than the recto 2x12. I love mine to death. All my magic cream is produced through it.

Genz-Benz G-Flex 2x12.
Best 2x12 I've ever used. Had it with a Mesa Single Rec, Framus Dragon and a bunch of Engls. Filled a room better than most 4x12's.

I don't rate anything over fryette's cabs, my vote goes to the deliverance

I love Port City, Bogner and Mesa cabs. Right now I've got a PC OS 2x12 and a pair of the PC OS 1x12 cabs. They're great. But I'd be happy with the Bogner OS 2x12 I had as well. Played the Mesa 2x12 recto again yesterday and like it as well.

Want focused? Get a Mesa. Want open? Get the PC or Bogner.

Thats odd because the mesa didnt sound very focused to me. Wouldnt the PC be more focused due to the angled reflectors in the cab to move air?

What amp will you be plugging into it?
Do you know the girl in your Avatar?

Part of one of the 'demotivational' posters... I believe it's called Skittles.

Ya, great piece of art that avatar

Getting a PC cab will be the best choice you will make! There one of a kind!

My favorite 2x12s right now are Orange, Bogner OS and a PRS, but what amp(s) are you plugging into it??

Focused is not a term I would use for the mesa. Definitely go PC or VHT if you want extreme focus
