Cabinet jack too deep

Please see this photo. This jack is placed in too deep and the first two pins were bent in so that the jack would fit in the hole.

If you can't tell from the picture, the pins are partially inside the hole, that's why they were bent inward. There's no room to even solder a wire in.

How can I rectify this?

It's mono isn't it? Solder to the rear tabs.
Take the jack out, pull the wires through the hole, solder the wires to it, and put it back in.

Not sure I understand you. The tip is positive and the ring is negative which means I need both the buried prong as well as the exposed one. If I pull the jack out, that doesn't help me either, as once it is wired, it won't fit the hole.
 
I see three options that seem feasible, and two have been mentioned:
A) Solder it very carefully, as it sits (yes, you can get the wires through the tabs, and solder it while the tabs are bent down).
B)Pull the jack out, feed the wires through to the outside, solder it up, then push everything back thru the hole (bent tabs and all), and bolt it up.
C) Wire it up using the rear tabs, as it is probably mono anyway.

Regarding C aren't the rear tabs both positive (tip)? Thanks
 
You should definitely pull the jack, and see how the positives and negatives are layed out. You are correct, in that both rears could be positive for simplicity of manufacturing, but it could also be manufactured with a +/- on each end (for ease of wiring).

The picture still looks to me like both front tabs are pretty accessible. It looks very "do-able" either way, whether both rear tabs are + , or a +/- on rear of that particular jack .

The tabs being bent slightly will not affect anything, if you had to remove the jack totally from the cab, in order to solder the wires. You would just pull the wires through the hole, wire it up (however the jack is layed out), then feed everything back through, then apply the bolt from the outside.

If all else fails, you could widen the inside of the hole (inside the cab), so that it is not preventing you from working with all of the tabs. And just to be clear, I am not referring to making the hole bigger altogether, just adding a slight taper to the inside edges of it.
 
I have had to deal with that before, and you have to solder the wires perpendicular to the terminals.

I now use this style jack

So for wiring a 2x12 parallel, you'd wire each of the two speakers' positive wires to one single terminal on the output jack and then the same for the negative? So on each terminal of the output jack you'd have TWO wires soldered in?
 
^^ Correct ^^ Or daisychain from the lugs of speaker 1 to the lugs of speaker 2.
