nah..... I like the .wav cause I can actually listen here at work, they have .mp3 blocked.

sounds kickass by the way..... I'd KILL for a CCV-100

How loud was the amp when you recorded? Where was the master set?

Thanks!

I recorded it damn loud id say the master volumes were at about 11 oclock....

hmmm, doesn't sound very good to me. A little fizzy and sort of harsh. I can hear it in the clean channel, too. Sort of thin, with a lack of any mid-range definition. But, that can be from any number of things: how it was EQ'd, the speakers, the guitar, and/or the recording process.

So, I can't really say that I enjoyed how the amp sounds from these clips.

Thanks for the effort, though.

Unfortunately I agree.

Yeah it definately could have been the speakers not being broken in but that tone really did nothing for me at all.

It was def mic placement, gonna re do it tonight....

That could definatley be it. I typically do several takes on seperate tracks with different mic placements to see where it sounds the best an compare tracks using my ear. I also listen to the recorded track and try and decide if it needs more or less in the eq and I eq from the amp which a lot of times doesnt sound like I want it to in the room but sounds much better in the recording. Alot of times I mix my 57 with mt e609. I like the tones I get that way.

+1! I use those two exact mics at the same time with great results.

8th clip sounds like you have a phase issue

Listened to most and it sounds good!
Very tight.

EDIT: That phase thing happens with u87 I think. You have it in other u87 clips also.

For something recorded with a single 57 that sounded pretty damn good

They sound great to me  Should sound great in the mix, would like to hear that actually :)

i guess that in a buzy mix they would sound great.. but alone i find them a little thin, harsh and fizzy.. i believe that is a bad mic placement that causes this..
