The amp I played in person was a monster, but your clips sound really buzzy and one dimensional to me. I don't think it is mic position, I think it is how you have it dialed in... I could be wrong though... I'd take another crack at dialing/recording because based on these clips, although I like the agression, I would not be interested in the amp. In person, I would have given my right arm for it... and I didn't even do any dialing. I just played it as it was dialed in the booth at NAMM...

Now that I would love to have heard.

I think in contrast in a mix these tones would sound killer, I think the only thing i could have done to make these better would be adding a well placed room mic. With a bass guitar, heavy drums, and vocals, you need that presence to cut through the mix in my experience and opinion....
The mics were placed well, and i tried a bunch of mic positions and to my ears where i had the mics was best.
I also believe I had the amp dialed in very well, Channel 2Punch - 9 , Presence - 3 Bass - 6 , Mid - 7.5, Treble - 4 Gain 1 - 9.5 , Gain 2 - Noon, Master Volume - 4
Dip Switch settings - Punch all the way to the left, Presence all the way to the right, Gain 1 All the way to the left, Gain 2 - all the way to the left
Channel 1 - Bass 3.5 , mid - 6 , treble - 8.5 , gain 3 , Dip switch over gain all the way to the left, Volume 3.5
Tone is def subjective, but i appreciate your honesty and opinion man!![]()
