One of the the things I like about having both Camerons and Friedmans is that they are different enough to warrant keeping both amps.

I'd love to hear them blended.

I agree James....blended would probably be the ticket. That being said, I have never heard another amp that sounded anything like my CCV. It's really got it's own thing going on and stays as fat as hell and never gets thin even at deafening volumes.

An while I plan to own a Marsha very soon....for me it's back to the man cave to kick it with this new VH4. What a killer amp....

I agree with you all the way. I also have both for the same reason.

I borrowed my friends Friedman modded Voodoo amp that had the BE, C45, JBE...Jerry Brown Eye, SAT, FAT. I liked it but it didn't have anywhere near the amount of saturation that a Cameron HG Jose or a Cali mod has. It also didn't sound anything like a Cameron, it was really smooth sounding. But how much of that tone is because of the Voodoo amp? That i don't know.

The Camerons are designed differently from Friedman's Mods. IE; one does not sound or feel like the other. Our HG-Jose Mod is more in line with Cameron as far as saturation and we also have numerous other Mods that are more organic/rich in nature. Out of curiosity, which model Voodoo was it your friend had modified?

That was my experience as well, the Friedman modded amp i played sounded nothing at all like any Cameron I've played. Just very different. The Friedman did have a really nice fat bottom end to it and it was very warm sounding. The Cameron's are more aggresive, and the Cali mod even more. But some guys feel Cameron's and Fortin's have a lot in common with Mesa Mark series amps. I think a little, especially the gain on tap.

The Cameron’s are not based on the Mark Series but are more of a hot rodded Marshall. Mike’s a great guy and while I may be mistaken I do not think his Cali Mod is based on a Mark Series either but rather also on the hot rodded Marshall vibe.

I had a cam Jose yrs ago and also have a ks mod. To me, the Friedman is way more bottom heavy and bassy. I would like to get another cam Jose.
