Can a pedalboard blow amps?

I've managed to blow two amps in three weeks. One amp has blown twice.

I've changed the speaker cab and speaker lead but the amp still blew. When I change to the backup Magnum 44, I change the pedalboard and the Magnum hasn't blown.

Could there be a surge or something coming from my board which is blowing my amps?
 
Thanks for the fast reply. So the problem has to be either the amp or power supply?
 
Did you plug the speaker cabinet into the effects loop return?
 
The speaker cab is always plugged into the speaker out set, correctly, to 16 Ohms.

What benefit would there be in plugging the speaker into the loops return?

No benefit at all, it would blow your amp after a bit though.
 
Can a pedal board blow amps? Not if Dave is wiring them. :lol: :LOL:

It could be something in the loop. For both amps I run an MXR analog chorus, mxr '74 ri phase 90 and Hardwire DL8 looper delay. I also use a Suhr ISOboost in the loop for the amp without a built in boost.
 
First of all, what do you mean by "blowing amps?" Does that mean your tubes are dying, transformers crapping out, what?
 
The amp fuse is blowing after 45 minutes of playing time.

But seriously, what kind of amp are we talking about and when was the last time it was properly biased?
 
Most likley you have a bad tube in the amp or amps. Nothing from a board would blow the amp unless there was 120v ac on the ground. Very very doughtfull. You would know for sure after the shock.

I had purposefully avoided mentioning the amp brands because my primary focus was on receiving advice on the pedalboard. I knew Dave would be able to provide the input.

For completeness, the amps are Bogner Shiva and Budda SD30 Series 2.

The Bogner was biased correctly by me (to 31) with a bias rite. The Budda is cathode bias and reportedly isnt required to be biased.
 
I have an update on the first amp. The Bogner had a fault in the switch mode PSU and fuse carriers. These have now been fixed and the amp is running again.

The Budda has not been tested since the preamp tubes have been changed.

Looks like it's not the board. Thanks for all the help and replies.
