Last night I plugged into my 101B and noticed the background hum was louder than normal. The amp was still producing sound though across all the channels. I tried a different power outlet, different power cord and nothing changed.
When you flipped the amp off of standby, it would be quiet for a few seconds and then the hum would "swell up" to a louder volume and then stay at that point.
I didn't notice any of the power tubes red plating, but when I flipped the switch in the back to half power, the hum immediately went away which is causing me to think that one of the power tubes may be the culprit here.
Anyone have a similar problem like this before? I'm not sure whether the half power switch cuts out the inner or outer pair of tubes but I can figure that out quickly enough I suppose...
