Hi, I thinking about purchasing a Friedman Pink Taco amp, I had heard a few of the you tube demos.
I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight into what kind of sound they were going after when they designed this.
Was this voice to be a baby BE , HBE, etc? Or any other details or opinions you guys can provide?

:)

Thank you in advance.
Jamie

It's basicly a baby BE. But it's tuned to the power section which is like a vintage 20 watt Marshall head that is cathode biased. Can be aggressive but the notes are sweet and round due to the cathode biased el84 tubes.

Loose and saturated. Oh I'm sorry do you mean the amp?

It sounded great at the Amp Show. I was amazed that it was only 20 watts.

Take a Vox AC30 for example. 30 el84 watts is freakin loud. Like hang with Marshall loud.

find a younger one :D
The older ones are loose and unforgiving. Newer models are easier to play and saturated.
