Got one of these showing up in a couple of days and was wondering if you can swap power tubes around like you can on the 45 and 80? thanks Shane
can you use different power tubes in a Budda Superdrive 30?

No, they use el84's not octal power tubes.

Check it out first, the amp sounds great with EL84 tubes.
Be sure to use Sovtek EL84's. I've read that Jeff voiced the amp around these so no need to go experimenting, plus the Sovtek's are good at handling how hot the output tubes are pushed. The amp runs the power tubes really hard so you'll be replacing them about every 6 months (if you use the amp regularly) but it's worth it for the sound...and luckily Sovtek's are not expensive.

+1 on the Sovteks. I have an SD80 and not an 18 but I have a Crate V32 Palomino that I had JJ EL84's in. I just swapped them out for some Sovteks and actually prefer the Sovteks over the JJ's. Since they're cheap, readily available, and sound good, it's a no-brainer.

Here's a clip I made to help tide you over. The gain on the amp was only at 12:00 and I boosted it with an MXR 10 band EQ pedal.
Great rock amp...and the clean channel sounds really nice too IMO.

That's actually making it worse, those clips sound killer! I still want to hear them on soundclick youtube tends to mush everything!

That's actually making it worse, those clips sound killer! I still want to hear them on soundclick youtube tends to mush everything!
