Captor X: ohm only matters if it's attenuating?

Last sunday I had an outdoor gig and brought my marshall 4x12 1960 AV. I also had the 8 ohm captor x to feed the sound to he PA, no attenuation going on.

I didn't realize that the cab only works at 8 ohm in stereo, aka 2 speakers out of 4, when I really wanted to use all 4.

I then stumbled across a comment saying that if the captor x is on full, aka not attenuating, the amp only sees the impedence provided by the cab. So I hooked up the 16 ohm out of the amp to the 8 ohm captor x on full to the 16 ohm in og the cab. No issues.

Did I do right? Or can it be bad long term?

Hi @GiorgioV thanks for getting in touch and this is a good question. When the attenuation is set to FULL the load of the Captor X is irrelevant in terms of what your amp "sees" if a companion cabinet is connected to the SPEAKER OUT - in this case it only sees the load of the connected cabinet. As such, in the setup scenario you have mentioned, you have an impedance match in your rig and there is no danger in this configuration whatsoever. Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions, I am here to assist!
