Carvin bolt plus? Any good?

Carvin makes some great stuff...most serious players replace the pickups and electronics, though I'm sure you could get by without issue. I'd look for a used Bolt, their resale value is extra pitiful, making it a great buyer's market.

Have a bolt Plus.
It's wanted by everyone that plays it. Tung oiled Mahogany body
maple neck ,reverse headstock,no fret markers, hardtail strat type bridge.
Bought used from G.C. loaded with Dimarzios ...$450.00 out the door

Plays smooth, great tone, and used they are a cheap buy.

two

Also had a loaded C66. Suhr $3500.00 looks but was a bit un-inspiring
Felt real stiff compared to the $450.00 Carvin mutt.

Thanks! I'm most likely tossing warpigs in one.
I want a dc600 more so

I have a Bolt+ and it is awesome.

Great guitars, imo. Keep in mind that aftermarket pickups might not fit the routes. A few years ago Carvin started to offer covered pickups at which time they enlarged the pickup routes. The new larger routes seem to fit aftermarket pickups. I am unsure if the Carvin models with direct mount pickups ever got the larger routes. They may or may not have. You could call Carvin to confirm.

I have enlarged some older routes for EMG's. It's just a bit of sanding in the corners but it would look bad on a direct mount.

Ive owned 2 Carvins (both from Crunchtime). Still have my CT4. Great playing guitars. I am interested in a bolt as well.

I've found Carvin's to be hit and miss in regards to quality. (I've owned Bolt, CT3) If you have a good one, they're decent guitars.

I haven't found that true. I've owned multiple and they were all really wel made. I swapped out pickups on each but fit and finish was top notch.

I'd second this! I've never seen a Carvin that was substandard. I'd stack mine up against any PRS. In fact I've never played a PRS that was even close to my Carvin.

agreed with the Carvin vs Suhr comparison +1

Carvin Bolt+ is a great guitar for the money. One of my fav in my collection and all of their guitars are underrated.
