Hey guys, I'm thinking of investing in some IEM's in the next few months. I'm totally new to the idea, have never used them before, and don't know exactly how they usually tie in to a live stage PA but it's pretty straight forward so my guess I'm sure is very accurate. Just curious what you guys thought of the Carvin IEM's and if you could throw some general information and things to watch out for in a system etc etc.

I would go with a shure system or even sennheiser if possible. the carvins do not get really good reviews. Try not to skimp on price if you can because you won't get the real benefits of using them. I use the shure psm200. it's been great for vocals but I actually think my guitar playing has suffered a little because I'm not hearing my tone the way it actually sounds to my ears without the IEMs in. It's definitely a big adjustment period for me. I was also having problems with notes decaying much too soon in my ears, which caused me to kinda compensate and screwing me up. I'd hold a note, hear it decay quickly in my ears, pull out an ear bud and would hear the note still sustaining on stage. I still haven't figured out why I'm getting this problem but it's been getting better slowly but surely at different venues.
