I have (had?) one. Went tits up (known quality issue). Sent it to Carvin for repair 11/17/12. Fedex confirms delivered. No word from Carvin. No confirmation they have it even though they state "confirmation email will be sent". Called them. No records. Hmmmm. Do I still have an amp?????

All I can conclude is that their guitars are very well built, but amps are 50/50 whether you get a good one. In my case I am 0 for 2 as the V3 I had also had some quality issues.

Real life example...

I would be on the phone 2 times a day till I got some kind of answer . If they don't have it then fedex does and if you wait to long to file a claim then your out of luck

My impressions-

I bought one for $800 on Black Friday. It arrived a week later and after playing it for a day, I sent it back. It had a really nice clean channel that would not distort. The two gain channels left a lot to be desired. I've never played such a dark amp before. If I can judge Darkness by Orange Standards, it was much more dark, in an unusable way. The dirt channels sounded like the clean channel + a Big Muff + gain. The EQ section was unresponsive below 12 O'clock. I had to crank the presence for the amp not to sound muddy, but in doing so, it game me a headache The vibrations from the amp sitting on top of my cab caused the footswitch to vibrate loose from the midi port it was plugged into. On a positive note, the LED's were cool, the footswitch made no popping noises when I used it, the FX loop sounded nice.

If you want a good quality amp for cheap, don't get the Legacy 3.
