I was looking at the Carvin Semi's, and damn they GREAT.

Body carved from a single piece of wood, and the top is also carved from a single piece, no lamination.

Built an SH645 and 550, price around $1800-$2000 depending on options.

Price seems excellent for an American made, solid wood semi, custom made to order.

But, I've never played one.
Anyone own or play one of these?
Whadya think?

I have a Carvin SH645 that is, hands down, the best hollow body guitar I have ever come across at any price.

The craftsmanship & tone is soooooo good it's scary.

He's an old clip of it in action.

I have two Carvin guitars that I custom ordered and both are the best quality instruments I own! Don't like the pick ups but that's an easy fix.

Nice. :)

Is that a 445?
Alder or mahogany?

How does it compare in tone and playability to a Gibson ES335?
