seems like a lot of cool features packed in to one decently priced head. anyone had an experience with one?

It's like a very versatile box of bees with extra shitty tone...

But for 2010 they have "updated" it with fancy blue lights inside and a tough guy diamond-plate faceplate!

ok well that wasn't very helpful...
what don't you like about it? apparently you played it and it sounded like bees? mesa bees or marshall bees?

It does High gain ok, but thats it. I sported one for a good year. The cleans are slightly odd, I could not get a good mid gain tone from it either. It can be pretty fizzy as well. It has a tone of features, but in the end, it didn't stay around. I also had a cab with GT-75's in it, which honestly was the worst combination with this amp. It can sound pretty decent with the right cab, but get it only if you plan on sticking with gain.

I dont think the tone was that bad. I didn't like the one I tried out. Its a little harsh. It almost sounded like a cheap Dual Recto., and I dont hate Boogies BTW. Ive seen them sell for $500 though.

My brother had one before his Einstein, and I dug it. He had it partnered with the Carvin V3 V30 cab and put some Mullards EL-34's and Tung-Sol 12AX7's in it, and it sounded GOOD to us.

well between all the bad stuff said and no good examples of the thing. fuck it! no v3 for me! thanks guys

I might be in the minority, but I like the V3. From demo's online, I thought the tone wasn't good. When I was at the carvin HQ, I got a chance to play it and it was really nice- takes pedals well too. I could get great tones out of it.

Its not horrible, but I think for the money there is much better amps around. Blackstar for one, craps all over it.

I think it sounded much better paired with V30s, but nothing I would chase you know. I bet if you visit the carvin site, you would be able to find clips.
