I played X100 amps for about 15 years and loved them. I prefer the 6L6 based ones along with a tubescreamer in front and the graphic eq engaged in lead mode. And the cleans with a good chorus in front sound great IMO. 8)
A Laney AOR or even the GH and VH100R amps' current used prices are also really good deals.
The old 80s X-100Bs were great. However, the newer versions aren't nearly as warm sounding. More harsh & fuzzy. If you can find a late 80s one, they're a great buy. I wish I still had mine. Sold it to get an ADA MP1 set up.
