Im looking for a speaker to add some bottom end and cut how bright my amp is. I have heard that the WGS ET-65 doesn't have as much bottom and are a little brighter which kind of makes me want to look at another alternative. Does anyone have any suggestions. The amp is a 100 watt Marshall style plexi that is hi gain.

I put a set of Anniversary G12-65's in my JCM 800 combo. I wasn't sure at first, but now that they're broken in, I couldn't be happier with them.

I had a quad of WGS ET65's in a 4X12 that sound warm and fat without the top end sizzle.
It was very close to a Greenback tone imho but tighter low end with nice mids. .
I would buy them again without thinking twice if I need 65's again .

Thanks guys! JB6464 what amp was you playing with that cab?

I have a pair of et65s in my 212 that I run with my Marshall 2553 silver jubilee. They sound great. I had cl80s in the cab before. The cl80 have more lows and more highs and are louder. Never tried there celestion g12-65 to compare.

I have a pair of WGS ET-66 speakers with an MC90 and an EV 12S 200 watt speaker. They work well together when fed with a Marshall JCM 800 single channel amp.

I've always wanted some Celestion G12-65.

Never had but from what I have heard in demo clips they are damn amazing. A bit Pricey though.

For that price you could also consider Scumback.

I've got a celestion 65 I'm about to put in the classifieds if interested. I've just got to replace the speaker terminal but it's like new, otherwise
