Is the Mesa V30 a scooped version of a V30? Also did Mesa start putting normal V30s in thier cabs? To me 75s also sound scooped can you get as much punch out of them as the V30 or us it now the ohms or the cab?

The mids are just shifted lower on the Mesa compared to the regular Chinese V30.

I'm trying to get a good scooped liquid tone kind if like testament

Mesa V30s used with conservative amp midrange settings is a great combo.

I think you can get a scooped tone with either. I’ve both in an X pattern in my Bogner 4x12 and they mix well, I don’t think either would hamper a scooped sound.

^^^^ That's what I've got in my Uberkab, too, and I can get some wicked sounds out of that!

I am on the West side of Cleveland and have a Marshall MF280 cab that has the V30MF's which I believe are close to the V30's you are talking about. More of a lower mid focus than a standard V30. You can try it out if you would like to see if it will get you there.

Those mf cabs are sick. I’ve had a couple in the past and they’re just tanks, and sound killer with the v30’s or the k100’s.

Marshall DSL100HR or a Randall RM100KH. If you would like, swap something of equal value to hold onto (another cab, etc...) and you can take it with you to try with your rig for a while.

I might not even ask for that. You have been around for a while and we could just trade addresses and shake hands. As long as you promise to bring it back! Board justice would suffice if you don't.

I mainly use a 1960B with Greenie's so the MF280 is basically a piece of furniture at the moment.

I have Mesa V30s in 4 cabs right now. The cab has more to do with how it focuses than the speaker. They all sound like V30s (very middy), but different placement.

The thing is I'm currently operating with no rig just using my PA at home I kind of like the bolt amp they have in the Fairlawn GC they also have a DSL 100 but I don't feel like it might be a ticking time bomb without the mod.
