I thought I had made my mind up for the 12G-65 Heritage but I do a hear wooly quality and mid emphasis that I'm not totally convinced I would dig. I keep getting drug back to the Heritage 12H-30 75hz or 55hz. I have a 1982a cab from 1979 that has original Blackback 12H-30 75hz's that I love.

I have never played a 55Hz and I am really curious about it. Should I go for the 75hz that I know or branch out and go with the 55hz?

Has anyone compared Scumback's BH75 12H-30 Blackback version to the Heritage 12H-30's? Pricepoints are about the same for either brand when you include shipping.

I have listened to just about every YT clip I could find and I am still on the fence.

I tried the celestion H30 heritage in a marshall handwired cab and they really sounded great... I want a quad but they are so damn expensive! nice woody knock and no flub

Was it the 55Hz or the 75hz that you played?

This is the clip that has so far swayed me away from the Heritage 12G-65.

I'm just undecided between whether to go 55 or 75HZ. I am leaning towards 55hz but am afraid it might be too sixtyish tone.
I love the way these grind and as you describe have that woody knock with no unpleasant high end shrill.

I'm still looking for a Scumback clip that sounds like this.

Maybe try two of each, then play around with them and see which you really like. Heck, you might like the combo of them!!

You may have something there...I'm thinking H75 on top and the 55hz on bottom, that should even thing out. I already have a cab of original Blackback 75hz H-30's that why I was leaning towards a cab of 55Hz. The 55HZ has more of that woody knock but it is there in the 75hz just not as prevalent.

It was the 55hz... the ones that come stock in the marshall handwired 412. I wish I could say something about the 75hz but Ive never tried them. If you are worried about them sounding too vintage, consider the evh cabs have the heritage greenback M and can handle metal and modern stuff no problem.
