Lots of people have Creambacks now. I find the Creambacks is and Lynchbacks to be almost interchangeable. Very similar.

I am going to hear it for this, but I find the Creamback to sound a lot like the Splawn Small Block. They are so similar, that in my buddy's studio at a jam session, I could hardly tell the difference!

Seriously guys, the Splawn Small Block is so similar to the new Creamback, it is crazy.

Richedie you are the king of speaker swaps... what is the word on Lynchback vs creamback, vs small block vs RI greenback. What are you liking right at this exact moment. I am interested again and i can't decide between 2 lynchbacks, 2 creambacks, two more weber legacy, or two retro 30 for my 4 x 12 that has RI greenies in it. I have an x pattern with super V's but want to try something a little warmer but defined.

Missed this thread. I have a Splawn 2x12 with Creambacks and it is fantastic. I can not compare it to the SB's but I can say, having talked with the Splawn folks in great detail, they say the Creambacks are what they HOPED the SB's would be. They are still obviously fans of their own speakers but they think very highly of the Creambacks. When I ordered my first cab, Mike at Splawn talked to me for about a half an hour and they were not trying to "upsell" me in the least. Ultimately I went with the Creambacks over the SB's out of my own brand loyalty. The only Emi speakers I loved were my P50E's in my Deliverance cab.

I am a Celestion fanboy at heart. These are my first Greenback type speaker but I love them. I have a matching cab on the way next week, Lord willing.

Lynchbacks are darker without a doubt. I had a quad of Lynchbacks 8ohm and a quad of the new creambacks made in england 16 ohm both quads were loaded in in bottom cabs and the lynchbacks are darker voiced. I kept the creamback quad as they worked a bit better with my amp. Both speakers are great at a modern greenback tone.

I really want to try the Creambacks. I'm really reluctant though because my EVH cab already sounds so good. I wish places had a better return policy for speakers, because you don't really know if you like them until they are broken in.

I am not a fan of the Heritage Greenbacks which are the EVH speakers.
I much prefer the smooth tones of the Lynchbacks.

IDK about the EVH speakers. I tried GB's with a Mesa back in the day and HATED them. But holy crap, do they ever sound good with the EVH amp. Then I realized that some of my favorite tones are with them (AIC, Metallica, Gojira, ect...), so there must be something to them.

Have not tried the Creambacks, but I do like the Lynchbacks a lot. I wish they would make them in 16 ohms though.
