If you had to choose one of these amps to achieve the early VH1 sound which would you choose.

I'd go for the plexi.

No idea what a Chucpachakra is.

Bob the chupacabra is ceriatone version of a modded Jose plexi.

As much as I absolutely love the D60 if the chubracrabra gets close to the tone it's supposed to I'd go with the cubacrachra.

I'd go for the ceriatone yeti over the chupacabra for VH.

I haven't tried the Yeti but as a Chupa 50 owner I can tell you it is a killer amp with plenty of tonal possibilities from the 3 modes, the Yeti does make it easier to use the pussy trimmer though to turn down how much gain you have on tap with the gain controls. Check my YouTube channel for a few demos.

Chupacabra 50 all the way. Listening to the Yeti I think it would be too dark for that particular application. Kind of like the difference between Splawn Quick Rod and Nitro -- both killer amps, just different voicings.

For that really bright, more kerangy Marshall tone, the Yeti wouldn't get there as easily without some Greenbacks IMHO. I can get some cool VH like tones out of it but it's definitely not like a Mod 5 for example. THAT is VH in a box!!!!

Whilst not as bright as a SLP for example, the Yeti still has plenty of brightness for normal usage. I find some Marshalls to be extreme in their brightness so the Yeti really suits me well.

Yes I have, Mark(Rockstah) builds great amps. The reason I made this thread is because Ive havent tried a Chupacabra and I just wanted to get some opinions from people who have owned both or tried both.I did have the a chance to try a modded(jose) Cameron marshall yesterday(reissue plexi),im assuming it would have the same flavor as the chupacabra and I liked the deliverance better. The deliverance was more aggressive with clarity,it was brown if you know what I mean. The modded cameron was nice but I liked the Deliverance better.

:) My Deliverance 120 is not for sale. But I am always checking out new gear....

From what im hearing the the ceriatone chupacabra is closer to the VH sound then the cameron, also the chupacabra is more open sounding and more aggressive then the cameron. The cameron tends to sound less open and nasally.I havent tried the chupacabra like I said so I cant say much about it only here say.I would like to try the deliverance and the chupacabra side by side.

Why don't you just get a 5150 III 50 watt? Does VH all day long and twice on Sunday

I dont have any problem achieveing the VH tone with the Deliverance Im just asking questions about how the chupa compares to the Deliverance thats all.
