There's a local guy with one for $1350 I think, mostly unused he says. Is it worth trying to get him to knock a few bucks off and pick up on a whim? I saw Leon Todd's videos and I trust his recommendations on gear but just curious how it sounds for 80s hair through Marshall 75w loaded cabs and Greenback loaded cabs?

Not sure about the molecular but I’ve owned a chupacabra and gargoyle. Both of which I regret selling. Only thing to consider is if it was a kit or if Nik built it. If Nik built it I would jump on it at that price.

I had a blackout Yeti that was really cool. My only gripe was options paralysis, but that was a me problem. Not the amp. The Molecular came out not long after and that is an amp I really wanted to try! My vote is to give it a shot.

Never played a Molecular, but I have a Yeti - supposed to be similar - which I like a lot. It's not the tightest amp around (not as tight as modern metal monsters), but it's still delivers. It just suffers some option paralysis as @fek said, and some settings just don't work (both brite switches offed is plain mud), but the Molecular should far more plugnplay.

I had the opportunity to try one out for about a week and really enjoyed it. It’s crisp, tight, juicy, and has lots of gain. For the money, I think it’s probably the best bang for the buck in terms of a modded Marshall type amp. It can definitely do the 80’s thing but can easily go into modern metal territory as well without the need for a boost.

I had one for awhile and really dug it. Sold it to try to get a two channel version but ended up getting a leviathan. I've since sold the leviathan and almost every other amp I own unfortunately.

The molecular is one from that hot rodded plexi range that I wouldn't hesitate to get again. It's just a cool amp. Needed a boost for some stuff I played but it's a fun amp.
