Is there anyone who has played both of these that can comment on the differences, besides the wattage?

Following. Looking for a smaller backup for my Yeti.

The 50 will, by nature, have more punch and aggression. Just by looking at the circuits, that is. The SoY will be a bit rounder and obviously lower volume. But other than that, the preamps are identical. Haven't played both. Just the regular Yeti.

Thanks. I see that you have the Chupacabra. How does it compare to the Yeti?

The Chupa is brighter, the Yeti is slightly darker and vintage-r

Chupa = more aggressive, but looser.
Yeti = Tighter, but smoother. A bit more modern.

You can easily convert one into the other if you wanted to experiment. I've built a bunch of them, including a middle-ground that has the aggression of the Chupa and the tightness and low-end of the yeti.
