Change Ohms in 1/2 Power Mode?

Hi,

When I change my BE-100 into 1/2 power mode, do I have to also run though the speaker output that is 1/2 of the cab impedance? I've looked around for an answer to this question, and I can't find a clear answer. I'm worried about an impedance mismatch causing amp problems.

Bogner recommends changing the impedance in this way when running 1/2 power mode. The BE-100 manual does not mention this. (Neither does the early Two Rock Custom Reverb (v.1) manual, or the Matchless HC-30 online manual.) I'm a bit confused.

I know that Dave sometimes posts on this forum, so I was hoping to get a clear answer about what to do.

Thank you!

If it is a 16 ohm cab halve it to the 8 ohm output for half power. 8 ohms select 4 ohm output at half power. Any amps is this way.

I run my mark v in all 3 power modes and never change the impedance

yep, to match impedence with half power mode, plug cab into input half it's value, so 16 ohm cab into 8 ohm output

Thanks to everyone for clearing that up.

Can't argue when you hear it from the builder's mouth!
