Hey guys

Wondering what you guys might suggest for a Charvel So-cal/san dimas alternative? Floyd, dual humbuckers, superstrat? Ive heard Chubtone thrown around a few times but havent seen any solid examples of what Im after. Any other brands/builders?

Not quite. All of those brands with exception to Warmoth are very much their own thing, I guess Im after specific looks/specs like the photo above (80's strat shredder). Thats why I mentioned chubtone. Warmoth are parts great, albeit their necks sometimes need a lot of work to play comfortably (sprouting frets, ect).

I have this sonic blue warmoth that was built to look like a charvel custom shop. Great guitar. Neck was sanded down to be more charvel profile. It was much thicker before. Split coil and kill switch. I am thinking of selling it actually.

Why not just get a Charvel SoCal? For the money they are nice guitars. I own a 2022 SoCal and a 2017 San Dimas. Both play very well.
I thought the same thing. They are great guitars!

This x2 as everyone else has commented. You can find the exact guitar except maybe the color...just have the body painted. In fact here's an old listing of the exact guitar. Also Stratosphere, part one out. Again, you'd have to paint it. Or just go Chubtone, this is right up their alley.

Schecter Sun Valley guitars look pretty similar
I have both SoCal and Super Shredder and I like them. But in my opinion, they are quite different guitars. Mainly the feeling of the neck is different and Schecter is somehow chunkier. I'm no virtuoso, but I've noticed that what I practice with effort on Super Shredder, I can than easily play on SoCal.
