just bought this off ebay...needs a bit of work but im willing to put the time in (got it at a low price)

which says its a 71 fusion?

anyone care to shed some light?
whilst youre at it...any idea what the pickups may be (just from aesthetics)
im just waiting on shipping quote/payment and havent got it in my grubby hands of yet
 
I had one just like that black one you posted in the bottom pic..

They sold for $550-599 with a chainsaw case, That is what I got mine for new around 1991-1992 anyways...

from googling charvel fusion...im led to believe the specs are

24.75 scale
fast neck
basswood.
schaller made tremolo; R2 locknut
24 frets (if it has 22 frets, then it's a predator)
toothpaste logo
1 vol and 5-way switch


the scale lenght really has got me excited...something diffrent to the norm 25.5 shredder (which i have a ibanez 7 string to fullfil that duty)
 
Charvel Fusion Deluxe with a replaced bridge pickup (an SD Trembucker of some kind). I bought one of those new for four hundred something (without a case) in the early '90s. I had the maple fretboard version.

also is the fusion the same series/model as teh 550 XL

i asked hte seller to ship it with the neck taken off for ease of packing/save shipping...and was advised he cant...its a neck through?!

i really just glanced at this thing before clicking BIN as it was cheap as. gettig pretty excited as its looking to be a score...unless the necks faarked beyond setup and it gets damaged during transit : (
 
Looks like a Model 5 FX to me. The pickup is definately a Seymour Duncan Paralell Axis. Great guitars!
 
im getting mixed reports from various forums...some say its a fusion with teh shorter scale and others 550XL with 25.5

im not fussed either way...but would like to find out...guess ill have to wait to get it in my grubby hands.
general consensus is i pretty much scored thou...the price was double digit$...only just over 3 digit$ with postage ($AUD)
 
All I remember is there was a Bolt on neck version and neck through..
Some had the pick-up covers and some did not like the one I had...

I could swear from memory the only thing that aggrivated me about the guitar was the pick-up selector worked like a 5 way but it was only a 3 way
 
it arrived yesterday.

i didnt have a happy guitar day because i couldnt restring it due to
one broken saddle/one aftermarket replacement saddle where the screw stuck out too long
one broken pickup ring...which didnt hold the pickup in place.

anways took that time to clean the hell out of it...neck and frets were horid.
sorted out the saddle and bought a pickup ring (which is a bit too small but i will do for now)

im not usually a fan of finished necks...but this 20year old guitar feels so comfy...ive been shredding (badly) all night long

the sd trembucker (or parallel axis) is a bit strange thou...got a bit of snap/twang to it...kinda like a single coil and not quite a bucker.
may have to check the wiring/connections tommorow.
