I have alot of stupid questions, forgive me.
I really don't like Floyds so i'm curious if anybody has swapped out a floyd for a Wilkinson
or a hardtail of sorts on the new Charvels.I don't wanna buy something and not have it
work correctly.I want rather have one of these bridges, anybody try this?

I doubt that the Wilkie will be a drop in replacement. I used one on a guitar I built and believe the post locations are different. Both in terms of the proper position for the scale length and the knife edges on the bridge. That fixed bridge is interesting though. I could see that on the tele body San Dimas. But you'll still have the cavity in the body which will have an effect on tone. Of course you could go to the trouble of filling and refinishing. Interesting project. Now I think I'm going to look for a used body on eBay. :D

schaller makes a trem that drops in place of a floyd and works similar to a vintage strat trem where the strings go through the block and it uses roller saddles to help keep things in tune...

Cool i'll look, thanks.Hopefully the posts line up,trying to avoid ANY modding to the body.

What are you going to do with the nut? You might be able to find a roller nut or something that replaces a floyd otherwise you will have to glue some wood back on to make a traditional nut slot.

The man who works on my guitars (Mike Koontz) Made a nut for me before,it's bone glued to a flat
piece of steel, like a flat Floyd nut,the bottom piece. No biggie there. One thing i wont do is try to
glue a piece of wood to the neck,in that joint.

Sweet thanks.I'm hoping they have a Wilkinson,i e-mailed them and asked if they had
a drop in replacement for the Floyd, hopefully i'll hear something soon.
I could probably make a humbucker bridge for it but i'm getting lazy in my old age.
Buying is alot easier.
