Charvel guys... any of you made up other pickguards?

I got a US Charvel SoCal in candy plum the other week and I absolutely love it so I'm tempted to make it my number one guitar - despite it being purple! Thing is, I need a bit more versatility than the 3-way offers so I'm thinking of making it HSH and adding a 5-way. Anybody done that with theirs?

I had that same guitar (the same color as well) and I priced out a replacement pickguard. it was around $70...not worth it for me.
It was a very heavy, dead sounding guitar. Had almost no body wood resonance...it must have been a dud, I got rid of it.

Really? Mine is the exact opposite which is why I like it so much. It feels very alive and resonant. Lighter than my Strat too.

I liked the neck a lot on it, and the Dimarzios are great pickups, nice and thick. I wish it was like yours, the one I had was horribly dead sounding, no sustain... uncomfortably heavy, heavier than most Les Pauls I've tried.
Congrats.

I have a So Cal in black. I want to also change the pickguard. At my work we have a laser that will cut one for me I just need to get an autocad file of a strat pickguard and see if I can change it to 2 1/4 neck pocket and wherever pickup configuration I want. Depending on the price of the pickguard material, the actual price to cut one is about 15 to 25 dollars. Just a guess. They charge per minute to cut.

Had Tony at Pickguardian make me an HSS for my candy green SoCal. It's perfect. He can make you anything.
