charvel ho's...3rd batch

The gold as pictured is the So Cal model. There is still some debate as to whether the SD2 Tele or the SD1 San Dimas is the green or the black cherry/purple. There is also talk that the green guitar body is overexposed in the picture, making it look more Vai/Dweezil like than it really is. The actual candy green color is more like the paint sample picture and has been seen on the current So Cal model green.

If the 1st and 2nd batch are any indication of availability, each store will only be able to get 2 of each color. If anyone wants one...... see my sig

That's all Charvels have ever been. Eddie, Warren, George did OK with them right? They are American made in the Fender factory and priced on the same level as a USA strat.

i was hoping for a dweezil/vai green as opposed to the previously released one. the purple may be cool. i'm thinking white or zebra pickups with purple = :inlove:

Yeah, purple! My 1984 Charvel is candy purple so I think it may need a new little brother!

Well, I had an SD 1. That Floyd just seemed a bit off to me. Although it played fantastic, the neck width was narrow for me mits.

Gold is going to look tasty with the black pickguard IMHO... I have a green and orange socal and love em. If you are into shredder/floyd guitars, these are bargains.

i'll give that but, i can't see paying 1700 bucks for a single pickup single volume knob. but that is my dumb opinion. that and a quarter will get you....nothing. cheers mate.

Buy a used socal for $700 or so, Spend $15 on a new pickguard with on HB cutout and you have a single pickup single volume knob guitar for $715. Sell the neck pickup for $50 or so and you're ahead of the game. :D

If that purple/black cherry is on the SD1, I'm going to have a hard time not buying one.

I love these guitars. Granted yeah they are strats, but they just play better than most strats I have owned, which really just comes down to I guess my strats weren't set up perfectly for my playing.

Fretwork has a lot to do with that too... plus these necks are quartersawn which make them more stable than flatsawn. I had an american standard (08) that was ok, but the necks on the two So Cals I own have better fretwork.
