Charvel Mod to pull up on Floyd

I recently got a Socal MIJ and noticed that you can't really pull up on the bar much. I have the Floyd set for floating but there isn't much room.
I am guessing you can route the trem cavity a little to allow for a bit more pull up. Has anyone done this?

Is the block hitting the inside of the cavity when you pull up? Or is the Floyd hitting the top of the guitar?

If the latter, you can shim the back of the neck pocket slightly to add more angle, which will in turn allow you to raise the bridge up further and give you more room to pull up on the bar before the tension plate/string lock bolts hit the body. If it's the former, you'd likely have to break out the Dremel and make more space for the block to move.

Sounds like a shitty set up. If it's correctly flush, you should have plenty of pull.

The Floyd is hitting the top of the guitar. It plays great. Just not much room to lift up.

You could shim the neck toward the body side of the cavity, and you'd raise the Floyd a bit to get your action back where you['d want it, but you'll have more clearance to pull back.

Add a picture of how your bridge is set. We are guessing without seeing it. If it is recessed route your setup is wrong.

The best way to see this is to post a picture of the guitar at the side angle facing the Floyd trem. You can’t expect people to interpret what you are asking from description. It just creates more confusion. If you can do this, it would be very helpful.

Something like this would be an example:

That's why I have never gotten the point of the route. Totally limits the pull up. I have one nice playing guitar with a route but if def bugs me.

I am not big on the idea of shimming the neck and to your point, it's not going to get me much.
It looks like there is like a 1/4 inch of thin wood from the top of the guitar I could route. It looks like it would be enough to give me some pull up room.
