Did a search and couldn't find a previous post with the same question..

I want to order a replacement body for my MIJ Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas. Exactly the same except with a hum/single configuration instead of hum/hum.

Now, I want to keep the floating floyd. I don't really want it flush mounted and I dont really care for recessed ones either. I'm not sure whether i need to order the body with or without the angled neck pocket.

I emailed them to ask and got a kinda vague answer, see below:

"It would be a good idea [to order angled] so you would cut down or eliminate the need to shim the neck pocket, BUT SOME SETUPS WITH FLOATING FLOYD MAY NOT NEED IT - You would have to determine that one based on your own preferences."

To those who have built musikraft guitars what do you think?

Most old Charvels (and the MIJ ones) have an angled pocket to accommodate the non recessed Floyds. We're talking slight angle of course.

You have to order an angled neck pocket! Trust me on this - make your life easier... I've built several Musikraft guitars and if you want a floating Floyd, do the angled neck pocket. Frankly, I'd always do the angled neck pocket unless you do a recess whether you want the floyd to be flush or float...

I wish there was someone who I could trust to rout a neck pocket for a slight angle. I hate using neck shims for my Floyd.

Awesome, thanks for the replies.

I was 90% there on ordering with the angled pocket but just wanted to check
