Nitro Aged Charvels only please... no look alike, home sprayed, etc. etc.

This is a threat for strutting these guitars and share thoughts and whatnot.

I'll start out.

I just bought this baby in Germany from a guy that got it from The Zoo. It's a 2014 Dakota Red Nitro Aged with SD103 and SD100.
I was a first a bit sceptical about the proportions of the neck from the spec-sheet, but lemme tell you... this is the most wonderful neck i'v ever played. The guitar is SUPER light, and it's the obvious guitar you just wanna pick up and play. To me it seems that the frets are a bit bigger than the regular 2100 but not a huge as 6000's. They don't look to be Dunlop. Anyone else experienced this, cause I thought they were always just stock 2100's. I like the frets allot tho. Could be a speciel order for the guitar I bought it from? Anyway.. it's just a KILLER axe!

Alright, LET'S SEE'EM:

Sweet as hell. I really like the stock Dimarzios in there.. no need to change. Any experience with big brass blocks?

Damn Steve.. i'd have bought that white in a heartbeat!

sah5150, I never thought it was possible but i literally drooled over those charvels!
that white and robins egg look exactly like the old ones

How do these compare to a old original?
I have not had a chance to play one of these georgeous re-issues

Yeah, I know. I actually traded it for a R9 that was worth $2K more than the white Charvel, so I couldn't resist. No experience with the big brass blocks - I may have to try one...

BTW - yours is beautiful, man!

They are very much comparable to the old ones, but you have to like a wider and deeper C neck. These are all 1 3/4" nut width and slightly fatter than say, a Pro Mod neck. I love them - they are absolutely incredible guitars. My JD Charvel has the same neck profile:

If you dont mind i can answer the Brass big block question?
I use all big blocks and like them but it was not like a religious experience or anything vs the reg brass block on a OFR.
here are the pro's - They do warm the tone and make it fuller overall
added sustain is questionable, i personally got just as much sustain as the stock blocks with my big blocks. YMMV?
these are great on a floyd rose special if you want to make a soso trem a great trem for not a lot of money. the floyd spec are the same as a OFR except the use a zinc black and cast saddles other than that they are the same so replacing the block on one of these is a real good move.
I would recommend a brass BB to anyone that feels then want the tone a but warmer and fuller.
you do lose some presence with these IMO

Thats all i needed to know  I must get one, do they offer these just gently relic'd?
I want it to look used but not abused

They look awesome but I worry about that figured neck? They go unstable out of nowhere.Or when the weather changes .

I can only speak for myself living in the relatively dry southern californa climate, but I rarely adjust any of my guitar necks and the highly figured birdseye maple Charvel necks are no exception. If you are concerned, you can always get it roasted, which is supposed to make them very stable. Suhr never did highly figured birdseye necks until they started roasting maple...

The nitro relics are a Music Zoo exclusive and I would never order a guitar from the custom shop again after waiting two years when I was quoted 8 months. I just buy from Music Zoo stock when they have them... The level of relic will be whatever they asked for, but most are relatively mello. Look at my Shell Pink - very light relic...

yeah i heard and read about the CS
anyway yeah that pink one is about the max amount of "relic" i would want
it is a nice guitar but it does not compare to the white and robins egg ones
mainly for two reasons to me, first not into pink guitars of any shade   and second
i am a maple board freak and she has rosewood! even still a very nice guitar just not my fav in those pics ;)

I miss the hell out of my charvels! I just realized I don't even have a picture of my favorite charvel anymore. it was white with dual humbuckers, I got it from the music zoo. beautiful birds eye maple neck. I put a super v in the bridge and it sounded amazing! I also had a few others but that was my favorite.
