Looking for some real basic help..Im used to setting up guitars myself and have done it probably 100 times or more over the years but I'm just not happy with the action on my MIJ white Charvel.

It sounds fantastic, so I'm leery of messing with it, just want it a little lower at the 12th fret.

From memory I think I've had it setup with both 9s and 10s....still more or less the same height at the 12th.

I've got the neck more or less straight....tiny relief with no buzzing issues.....

I lowered the bridge to where I can only get a little bit of pull up...I'd like more but hey this is a top mounted Floyd...no rout of course :-/

What are my options - shim? Never had to do that before....am more than capable...don't wanna kill the sound of it so looking for advice.

you will either have to shim the entire neck higher or route out more room for the floyd.

SHIM!!

Cut a business card end to fit under the end of the neck between the screws and the body. That will even out the action and make the guitar play better - wont effect the tone at all (IMHO)!

I vote shim as well. I had to shim the neck on an old Kramer for a similar effect.

This! I had to have this done to my USA Pointy Charvel, but I do not recall it being done to my MIJ So Cal?
