Played a new Charvel SD 1 in White with Chrome Hardware today. I gotta tell you, this thing is real beauty. The set up was pretty bad and the floyd was set up high off the body as a floater? It looks like you should be able to lower the bridge and tighten up the springs to get it flush against the body...Has anyone bought one and if so what are your impressions so far? It's definately cool and the price was $899. I may go back and low ball them since they had 8 or 9 others hanging on the wall.

Where do ya find one for $899;.00???? I got a call today from a dealer that had sold out his 1st batch and is getting a new batch by this coming tuesday and they are $1099.00 each. $899.99 sounds great.

Make sure you plug in and use your ears, don't buy without playing. The one i had didn't sound good. I lost a little money on it when i sold it.

I'm afraid the set up was so bad, it wouldn't have sounded good anyway   The thing that bugs me about it is it feels a little "cheap". It reminds me of the Kramer "1984" guitar I bought and sold a few years ago...what a piece of shit.

I have to agree with this. I think mine sounded a lot better than yours... I still love mine though

Your's did sound better than the one i had, but you have it loaded with Aldrich pickups. I still didn't like the way your's sounded in the neck position though.

I've never been a real fan of neck humbuckers in a superstrat. They should have made a single hum model, not the one with the pickguard either. How are the necks wearing on these? From the picts I have seen, they have that cheap fake plastic type looking wood that I've seen on the Highway 1 guitars. If it's comfortable, that's cool, it just doesn't look like those necks would age nicely.

Well it is not oil on them that is for sure, first month of playing the board was not even getting very grungy. I took 0000 to mine and worked the board edge a tad and went to town on the back then lemon olied the crap out of it. Much better.

Agreed with the neck buckers, for awhile I had no issues but now I am liking a lower gain stacked like the SD classic stacks. I really see a superstrat sell off coming for me or at least converting my 3 ways to 5 ways and splitting.
