Does anyone know if the pickguard on this model is the same shape as a Fender Floyd pickguard? That is, could I buy a new pickguard at Warmoth for this guitar? (I don't like the volume knob so close to the bridge pickup, so I'd want to move it, and replace the pickguard)

It looks like it may be just like a Fender...anyone know?

I have no clue if it is the same as the fender floyd pickguards, all I know is that I had to take the neck off to change pups and was not pleased

Why did you have to take the neck off?

The heal of the neck rests on it so you have to loosen the neck and to get the guard back on you have to drop it in pretty much straight due to the pup screws hitting the cavity.

My pickguard has been off my So Cal about 5 times now as I have been experimenting with pickups and I didn't have to take the neck off any of the times. There is a trick to it though that is hard to explain but involves some slight bending of the pickguard and pushing down on one side of the neck pickup to slip it into place.

It is an eleven hole pickguard which is typical of Fender so I would guess that a Fender replacement pickguard would be right on. Need a So Cal? See below :D
