After having it for the better part of 10 years I sold my old Behringer 4500H bass head and Hartke 410 cab. I've been using a mesa Titan & GK Neo 412 for the last few years and haven't been playing the Behringer/Hartke in a good while, they were taking up valuable space and it was time to let them find a new home where they'd get more love. It was a bit of a bittersweet day since they were my first bass head/cab decent enough to play with a full band. I was happy with them and they got me through more of playing sessions than I can count, but I also got so much flack for playing a "cheap ass Behringer"

To all the haters that gave me crap over the years... it may have been a cheap Behringer & Hartke cab, but it did it's job. And ya know what, as musicians we've all owned cheap ass gear that got us through when we needed it to. I say crank it up and be proud of your Behringer, Crate, Bugera, Joyo, Hondo, or whatever budget gear you use and damn anyone who gives you crap about it!!!

I keep a 5150 around for those shady places. I also like to burn tubes at band practice through something that isn’t boutique once and a while.

Sometimes it isn't as much about the expense as much as if something is right for you and what you play ?

I have expensive amps, but in general I use relatively inexpensive guitars. I prefer not worrying about them getting beat up live.

And in a pinch, it doesn't matter WHAT it is, if it gets the job done.

Also, hartke makes great bass gear for the price. Behringer.... I'm not really a fan, lol. But in glad it got the job done for you.

I’ve found choking out the haters with a speaker cable gets them to stop saying unkind things

I have always went with cheaper electric guitars. The most expensive guitar I've owned is my Edwards LP and when I got it I paid around $900. I am rough on instruments and honestly I dont play well enough or as often as I once did. I currently have an Edwards LP, an Asian LP copy (most likely Chinese) and a couple LTDs. I did however break that cycle a couple days ago when I put a deposit down on a Chubtone......really looking forward to it.
