Hey guys, thought I'd share a couple albums I just played on with yall. I used my Splawn Quick Rod on both and am very pleased with the results. I'll post links to both, but they are all available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and all the good stuff.
1. A Road Less Traveled-Love Transcend
This album is the harder of the two, where we put our own spin on some worship tunes. They're rocked out way more than normal. It was fun making, and easy. I'm not super pleased with some of the production value(snare), but overall I'm proud. 95% of the guitars are me playing, all through the Splawn. I used my Les Paul for every song but one, which I used a Tele on...furthering my GAS for one(Always). Mic'd up with a 421 on my Boreing 212 cab loaded w/ Scumbacks. I've got an M55 and M75 100W's. I mic the same one every time, but I don't know which it is
Favorites: Mercy Reigns, Your Love Never Fails
2. Experience Life Worship-Live
This was a live album recording my worship band did. Every song was original, and I used the same guitar(LP) and settings the entire evening. This album is a little more chill, but there's a few that pick up the pace. Same cab mic'd up with an SM57. The room the cab was in was all tile so I think that played into a little bit of how it sounds. I would've liked to have put some blankets or something in there but oh well. Favorites: Jesus You Are Worthy, I Will Go,
Both albums are ALL on Gear 2, with some changes from OD1 to OD2. All clean/cleanish sounds are just my volume knob rolled down on the guitar. Not a pedal guy, I like to just plug in and go.
