I'm looking for a really good Marshall guy who would do a good job of cleaning up, doing any necessary maintenance, and reverting my 4010 to stock if it isn't already. Then I want them to add in the Metro loop (I've already bought the kit). The amp already has two holes drilled in the back that I'm hoping to use for the loop.

I haven't needed an amp tech in a few years, and it doesn't look like Tim Schroeder does repair work anymore. For the immediate term I need someone who really knows Marshalls, but would otherwise want someone who would be able to handle more modern PCB multi-channel high gainers. Whether that's the same person or different doesn't really matter to me.

Anyone have any recs in the Chicago area? Appreciate any pointers.

I've been taking my guitars and amps to them for years now.

They have fixed my:

Spawn Quick Rod
VHT Sig X
VHT Ultra lead
Mesa Mark III
Marshall 2203X Cameron Aldrich
Diezel VH4

Probably more I'm forgetting

If you’re willing to ship Bruce Egnater in Berkeley Michigan is excellent.

I’ve gone to Chicago Music Exchange or Third Coast Guitar in Palatine. The guy at Mistrel Music also does good work, but he might be retired now

Heard good things about Chicago Fret Works.
When my Mesa needed a pot repair, I took it to Mark at Vintasonic - https://www.vintasonic.com/ - old school site, old school dude on the north side.
