Recently had my first bout with shingles. What a fucked up little fun time that was.
Yes, it's as painful as you read.

Anyway, come to find out Shingles is caused by Chicken Pox germs that have been lying
dormant inside your body. Something triggers them and BANG - you're in for one of the
weirdest experiences of your life.

Similarly, if you get herpes once you can occasionally break out with a cold sores years later.

So Covid-19 is that same type of germ. Recovery from it doesn't mean the elimination of it.

Got Chicken Pox around 10 and then Shingles at 60 - half a century later.

Makes you wonder what little nasty surprises those Covid-19 germs may have in store down
the road.

According to my Dr I got Shingles 20 years ago in my late 20's when I went to see him with a rash, he gave me 4 days off work and said be ready for a lot of pain. Told my Boss at the time and he was like "oh yeah that's not good have the whole week off"...I felt NOTHING at all so either he was wrong or I got lucky. Either way it was great to have a week off fully paid ... I played a lot of guitar in that time

Late 20s is really young for it. Did/do you have any autoimmune type conditions?
That ups your chances of getting them by a lot.

I'd read about it and was dreading the shit cause I had a pretty large swatch of it from
my spine running all the way around to under my pec.

Turned out really strange. Wasn't a constant ache or even a pain I got from doing anything
in particular. Out of nowhere - and any time of the day I'd get hit with a pain somewhere
along the rash, and anywhere between a quick jab of a needle to getting stabbed with a hot knife.

The little ones were more annoyance than anything. The big ones were bad.
Doubled right over and/or down on one knee if walking when it hit.

But all in all not really that big of a deal. 10-15 seconds of pain maybe once an hour for a few
days. The ridiculous itching was 10 times worse.

Also played a shitload of guitar - it was on the left so the strap or guitar didn't touch it. :m17:

nope no conditions... I was pretty stressed at the time so could have been that, but thinking maybe my Dr got it wrong
