Hey all,
My band is currently recording our second album, in which I wrote all the music and lyrics. I also do all of the recording, mixing, mastering, guitar and bass work. The band is called High Voltage and the album is going to be called "Colors". The album represents the changes in the world, society, love/relationships and such.
Since I am handling all of the recording myself, and I know this board loves hearing all things Diezel, I thought it would be fun to journal or chronicle the process, as I will be using a Diezel to record most of the parts, and the songs are very diverse...everywhere from laid back Reggae Rock to Heavy Metal.
My main rig is a Diezel VH4 through a Rear-Loaded Diezel 2x12. I also have a Marshall DSL 50 and JVM 100 that I will be using on some songs, layering the amps together. I am recording all of the guitar parts with a Paul Reed Smith McCartey.
ANYWAY
Song 1: Colors
Style: Disco Rebel Rock
Here is the first song, the title track, "Colors" - this tune is all VH4, mid gain. 4 rhythm tracks - Channel 3. The natural thick and heavy tone of the VH4 does well on this track, but unlike many high gain amps, it keeps everything very tight. Love the results of this one! The solo uses a Whammy pedal with a touch of delay, taking some inspiration from Muse/Rage Against the Machine.

Song 2: Summer Snow
Style: Reggae Rock
The song uses channel 1 with an electro harmonix chorus pedal...and a rocktron talkbox (not Diezel, I know ) For the guitar, I used my PRS McCartey neck pick up, coil tapped to imitate a single coil... I A/B'd it with an American Fender Strat and actually preferred the PRS at clean.

Song 3: Shakedown
Style: Muse-style Rock
For this song, I used the Diezel Vh4 channel 3 for all of the rhythm tracks, and supplemented those sounds with a Marshall DSL 50 and JVM 50. The solo is a bit brighter, recorded with a JVM 50 on my PRS neck pickup. The Diezel parts sound huge and thick, exactly why I love the VH4.

Hope you all enjoy the tunes and process this thread goes through. As always, I love any input on the tunes - it's great to hear what other Diezelers think, as I consider the members here masters of the trade
