I remember playing a custom shop Charvel san dimas that really felt great, EVH striped black/white. Loved the neck on it.

Wanting to build one on a budget using a san-dimas. would i be able to get one with no finish, 1 volume, and a 5 way from a current run model? Or look for a MI USA model? Can you get a floating trem body or no?

Just researching at this moment. Do not need one but would love to have one.

I know you're the one to go to for anything strat, thanks for any info dude

The EVH Art Series guitars had a different neck profile than the San Dimas guitars. Musikraft makes a nice Frankie neck that feels very similar to the ones used on the EVH Art Series Charvels. If you are talking about a pickguard guitar like the Charvel So Cal you could do what you want by getting a different, custom made pickguard with the 5 way. I'm not sure what you mean by a floating trem body. Do you mean recessed for a trem or floating the trem up off the body? The second way is how the Charvels are set up.

You may really dig a Pro Mod but the neck is slightly thinner than the EVH Art Series. It is the same width, I believe but the thinner back contour makes it feel wider than the EVh neck.

I know I didn't help you too much with this, but if we can zero in on what you want, I can tell you if you might be better building a parts guitar inspired by a Charvel or modifying a Pro Mod.

Ahhh i see, sorry i will be a bit more detailed.

Miss my wolfgang and have the thin neck area covered pretty well with an Ibanez and my M-II. Looking into a neck with a bit more beef with the feel of that EVH Art Series model. I sold the wolfgang due to fret access and 3 way location issues, but miss the profile and playability. Kind of the idea i am shooting at with this guitar.

On that note full floating floyd rose with a recessed body would be ideal if possible but not required. What body woods were used? Just curious as to what i might be up against here if it ends up being a parts guitar?

Sounds to me like you'd be better off building a parts guitar for that. There are a lot of great options and you can build it exactly the way you want it down to the last detail. I've been "rolling my own" since the 90's...it's a lot of fun and not hard to do.
